When I paint, I feel released from the need for words. I dissolve into the image, creating a new language. It becomes a conversation with myself — following whatever thoughts arise, transforming and rearranging what has happened into something new. Creating a different order. It is a solo journey into the deepest parts of myself. A meeting with the soul.
Nature often inspires me, especially light — the way it reveals subtle, fleeting, temporary images.
The symbol of the circle frequently returns to me. It gives me a sense of harmony and wholeness, but also of unfathomable mystery, of the sacred. It feels like looking into an endless Universe through a keyhole. In painting, I value honesty, because without it art loses its meaning. Honesty unlocks new layers of freedom within me and opens the way to deeper understanding.
I rarely title my works. Sometimes a painting asks for a name — and then it receives one — but most of the time it feels unnecessary. I like when people, standing before a painting, follow their own path of interpretation, open new doorways, experience different sensations. In those moments I feel the painting becomes fuller, richer, infinite.
Born in 1974, she studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She received her diploma in 1998 in the painting studio of Professor Mieczysław Wiśniewski.
Her artistic expression is rooted in abstract compositions, often characterized by pure, intense colors and rich tonal nuances, at times built on bold contrasts. She continually explores inner depth as a central element of her work — a metaphysical journey unfolding on the canvas. Nature is a frequent source of inspiration.
She is known for not giving titles to her works, leaving viewers with the freedom to form their own interpretations and meanings, unencumbered by verbal guidance.
Over the years, she has developed a distinctive technique that blends acrylic and oil paints with oil pastels and pencils. This synthesis of painting and drawing opens a new visual space — light, velvety, and rich in depth.
In 1998, she received a scholarship at the University of Göttingen (Germany), awarded as a prize in the painting competition “Architecture of Toruń,” organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University.
